Hamas’ “military wing” in Jenin released a video on Monday claiming to show a rocket launch from the city in Samaria towards Moshav Ram-On.

The IDF confirmed that a rocket was fired on Monday morning from the area of Jenin and exploded in Palestinian Authority territory. The army said the rocket did not pose a threat to Israeli communities.

Security personnel were searching the area and the incident is under investigation, the IDF said.

The moshav is located around 5 miles northwest of Jenin in the Gilboa region of northern Israel. The video from Hamas’s Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades shows two rocket launchers, one with a note attached to it. The video then shows the rocket fired into the air, including a slow-motion replay.

Palestinian terrorist groups have been trying to fire rockets at Israelis from Judea and Samaria recently, including a similar incident from May 25 when the IDF found a “homemade” rocket launcher in Nazlet Zeid, near Jenin. The rocket was aimed at the Jewish village of Shaked.

A similar video went viral from the May 25 incident.

The Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) arrested a Palestinian Arab after finding a rocket in an open field in an eastern section of Jerusalem about a month ago, it was reported on Sunday.

Abdel Alhakim Buatna, a resident of Ajjul, north of Ramallah, was arrested on suspicion of intending to fire the rocket at Israelis during this year’s Jerusalem Day flag parade in May.
