A historic church, which has received local authorities’ permission for conversion, is up for auction to be made into a luxurious home with a detached property on its grounds.
Formerly known as All Saints Church, the 1845 building has the potential to be transformed into a five-bedroom, six-bathroom house and features a games room and home cinema.
Planning has also been obtained for an external building to be constructed on its extensive grounds, offering a spacious garden area, garage and additional parking.
Located in the St. Thomas district of Swansea, Wales, the church is rooted in the region’s history. It was closed in 2015.
It contains a memorial with the names of 30 soldiers from the area killed in World War One – and details of the recipient of a Victoria Cross.
This “stunning development opportunity” is up for sale by Paul Fosh Auctions for a guide price of 267,000 dollars and above.
Its current owner bought the building five years ago from the Anglican Church in Wales.
The owner is selling it after relocating to North Wales and said: “It would be lovely to see someone nice taking on this amazing development project and make this beautiful church into a family home along with a new, additional, aesthetically pleasing detached family home built within the church grounds.”
The church, built by the copper industrialist Grenfell family from St. Thomas, still contains WWI plaques and memorial stained glass windows depicting Saint George and the Archangel Michael.
