BY Flemming Emil Hanson, December 24, 2020  — All fans of ‘Wonder Woman’ worldwide are rejoicing.

Gal Gadot starrer ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ was released here on December 17 and is set to dazzle US audiences this Christmas.

But prior to its release, a novel promotion took place for the movie fans in Dubai.

The movie teaser was projected on the giant walls of the world’s tallest building Burj Khalifa on December 15.

It was a perfect date for viewers enjoying a once-in-a-lifetime experience – a light show of the action-packed movie teaser accompanied by the powerful scores by Jo Blankenburg on the gigantic tower.

Even the lead actor Gadot was taken by surprise with the dazzling laser show on the 2,722-feet tall Burj Khalifa.

“This is so unreal! WW84 covering the Burj Khalifa tower in Dubai.”

The Israeli actor wrote on social media while sharing a video showcasing the glimpse of the spectacular light show.

The film is a sequel to 2017’s ‘Wonder Woman’. Featuring a woman as superhero, the film is directed by Patty Jenkins with Gal Gadot in title role. Other actors are Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Robin Wright, and Connie Nielsen,

Based on the DC comic character, the movie features superhero Diana Prince who works as an anthropologist. She fights the evil anonymously. But this time the rivals – Maxwell Lord and Cheetah – are more powerful, thanks to mysterious Dreamstone.

The film is produced by Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. which made the controversial decision to also screen it on the platform HBO Max On December 25, the same day it will release on US theaters.

“The decision was made because a large number of US theatres will probably be forced to work with reduced capacities for most of the coming year due to the pandemic,” said Warner Media Studios and Network Groups Chair and CEO Ann Sarnoff.

“We’re living in unprecedented times which call for creative solutions, including this new initiative for the Warner Bros. Pictures Group,” said Sarnoff.

“No one wants films back on the big screen more than we do. We know new content is the lifeblood of theatrical exhibition, but we have to balance this with the reality that most theaters in the U.S. will likely operate at reduced capacity throughout 2021. With this unique one-year plan, we can support our partners in the exhibition with a steady pipeline of world-class films, while also giving moviegoers, who may not have access to theaters or aren’t quite ready to go back to the movies, the chance to see our amazing 2021 films,” she said.

“We see it as a win-win for film lovers and exhibitors, and we’re extremely grateful to our filmmaking partners for working with us on this innovative response to these circumstances,” said Sarnoff.
