LAS VEGAS — The final press conference for the Gervonta “Tank” Davis and Ryan “King” Garcia lightweight showdown proved to be a war of words as emotions ran high and definitive promises were made by each fighter. Both were confident of victories on Saturday night, as the two fighters will take the ring live on Showtime Pay Per View from the T-Mobile arena April 22nd.
Five-time champ , three-division world champion, Davis has sold out arenas from coast-to-coast, made it very clear what he attends on doing to Garcia in their long-awaited showdown as he promised to destroy him on Saturday night with a KO.
“Don’t bring your mother or your daughter. Don’t bring them,” said the highly favored Davis. “I am going to break your jaw, I promise you. I am telling that you are going to sleep.”
Undefeated underdog Garcia came right back at Davis with his own prediction for Saturday night as the fighters came face to face for the first time this week as they both arrived in Las Vegas on Tuesday.

The press conference was moderated by sportscaster Brian Custer, who kicked things off by asking each fighter to describe their mindset heading into the fight. Davis, who is the current WBA lightweight champion, spoke confidently, saying he was “ready to go to war” and that he was “trained hard every day for this fight now he was ready and the talk is over.”
Garcia, who is the current WBC interim lightweight champion, spoke about his desire to prove himself as a top fighter and his belief that he can beat Davis. “I know I have what it takes to win this fight,” he said.
The two fighters then went back and forth, with Davis taunting Garcia about his previous opponents and Garcia promising to knock Davis out. The tension in the virtual room was palpable, with both fighters clearly fired up and ready to go.
