After a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Blockchain Economy Istanbul Summit is on for July 27-28 in the Turkish city. The summit’s fourth edition seeks to gather the crypto community on the bridge between Europe and Asia.

The conference aims to offer activities and speaker sessions designed to spread the knowledge of cryptocurrencies. Topics to be discussed at the event include the future of finance, Bitcoin, Web 3, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), the Metaverse, De-Fi, mining, the regulation of cryptocurrencies, making money through investing and trading on cryptocurrencies, and the implementation of blockchain technology in businesses and government.

Not sure what a blockchain is? Here’s a useful definition by Investopedia:

“A blockchain is a distributed database that is shared among the nodes of a computer network. As a database, a blockchain stores information electronically in digital format. Blockchains are best known for their crucial role in cryptocurrency systems, such as Bitcoin, for maintaining a secure and decentralized record of transactions. The innovation with a blockchain is that it guarantees the fidelity and security of a record of data and generates trust without the need for a trusted third part

The summit has unveiled much of its speaker lineup, which includes top industry experts and influencers.

Among them will be:

Alex Bornyakov — Ukraine’s deputy minister of digital transformation;

Carl Runefelt – entrepreneur, with 1 million followers on Twitter;

Emre Aydın – Turkish singer/songwriter;
